The latest announcement is out from Humana AB ( (SE:HUM) ).
Humana AB and Samhällsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden have agreed to sell an elderly care home property in Strängnäs, in which Humana holds a 50 percent stake, to Northern Horizon Capital for a preliminary total purchase price of SEK 237 million, with closing expected in June 2026. The 100‑apartment facility, developed between 2022 and 2025 and opened in spring 2025, will continue to be operated by Humana under a long‑term agreement with Strängnäs Municipality running until 2045.
The divestment aligns with Humana’s strategy of not owning real estate and will reduce the group’s net debt by about SEK 100 million, freeing capital for investment in other parts of the business. The agreed property value of SEK 235.5 million will, however, result in an estimated capital loss of around SEK 20 million, which is set to weigh on the company’s second‑quarter earnings while improving its balance sheet flexibility over the longer term.
