EcoGraf ( (AU:EGR) ) has provided an announcement.
EcoGraf has appointed Tanzania’s NMB Bank as its compensation partner to manage payments to Project Affected Persons under the Resettlement Action Plan for the Epanko Graphite Project. NMB Bank will open accounts for affected residents along the planned northern Mine Access Road and, together with EcoGraf, provide financial literacy training to ensure secure and transparent handling of compensation funds.
The deal enables the start of compensation for land needed for the Mine Access Road, marking the first on-ground early works ahead of full project construction. By progressing road access and compensation in line with IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles, EcoGraf reduces execution risk, improves year-round site access, and strengthens alignment with project financiers as it moves toward a final investment decision.
