Brazilian Rare Earths Ltd. ( (AU:BRE) ) has provided an announcement.
Brazilian Rare Earths has secured a Trial Mining Licence from Brazil’s National Mining Agency for its ultra-high-grade Monte Alto rare earths and critical minerals project in Bahia, marking a significant regulatory milestone toward commercial-scale mining. The licence allows extraction of up to 2,000 tonnes per year, enabling bulk shipments for customer evaluation, supplying high-grade feedstock to the Camaçari pilot plant scheduled for Q3 2026, and advancing the company’s low-impact, quarry-scale development model that is designed to reduce capital intensity, simplify permitting and strengthen its position in rebuilding a Brazilian rare earths supply chain.
The approval underpins Brazilian Rare Earths’ hub-and-spoke, integrated development strategy by linking upstream trial mining with downstream processing, while leveraging ultra-high grades, dry processing and high-yield ore sorting to minimise water use and avoid tailings dams. With the next key permitting step being submission of an Economic Development Plan in 2026 toward a full mining concession, the licence is expected to enhance commercial engagement with potential customers, lower development risk and bring Monte Alto closer to staged commercial operations.
The most recent analyst rating on (AU:BRE) stock is a Buy with a A$7.50 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Brazilian Rare Earths Ltd. stock, see the AU:BRE Stock Forecast page.
