The latest announcement is out from Akamai ( (AKAM) ).

On May 18, 2026, Akamai Technologies amended its existing credit agreement with a syndicate of lenders led by JPMorgan Chase, temporarily loosening its maximum consolidated leverage ratio to 4.75:1.00 for the fiscal quarters ending June 30 and September 30, 2026, to provide greater balance-sheet flexibility. The adjustment to its financial covenants suggests Akamai is positioning its capital structure to support heavier investment and potential short-term leverage as it pursues growth.

On the same date, Akamai announced a proposed private offering of $1.3 billion in 0% convertible senior notes due 2030 and $1.3 billion due 2032, with an option for initial purchasers to buy up to an additional $400 million in aggregate principal amount. Akamai plans to use the net proceeds primarily to accelerate capital expenditures for its Cloud Infrastructure Services business, fund hedge and warrant transactions, and repurchase approximately $350 million of its stock, a move that could expand its cloud footprint, manage dilution from the convertibles and signal confidence to shareholders.

The most recent analyst rating on (AKAM) stock is a Hold with a $160.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Akamai stock, see the AKAM Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on AKAM Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, AKAM is a Neutral.

The score is driven primarily by solid but weakening fundamentals (margin compression, higher leverage, and weaker cash conversion despite strong revenue growth). Technicals are supportive with strong momentum, but overbought signals add near-term risk. Valuation is a headwind due to a high P/E and no dividend. The latest earnings call is moderately positive on long-term growth (CIS/AI) but acknowledges near-term profitability and cash flow pressure from sharply higher CapEx.
