Air China ( (HK:0753) ) has issued an update.
Air China reported that in April 2026 both passenger capacity and traffic rose year on year, with available seat kilometres up 0.5% and revenue passenger kilometres up 5.8%, lifting the overall passenger load factor to 85.5%. Growth was driven by strong international performance, where passenger traffic jumped 13.8% and load factors improved sharply, while regional routes saw a reshaping of capacity and domestic traffic remained broadly stable.
Cargo operations showed a more efficient use of capacity as cargo and mail traffic increased 4.2% despite a 3.6% reduction in available freight tonne kilometres, raising the cargo load factor to 41.8%. The group continued to expand and refresh its network and fleet, launching or resuming routes linking Beijing to Hanzhong, Delhi and Frankfurt and adding six aircraft including a C919, bringing its total fleet to 965 and underscoring a strategy of measured growth in both passenger and freight markets.
